"Phutthawithi 231 Pi Ubon Ratchathani Hung Hueang Mueang Tham" is a magnificent Candle Festival parade performance created in 2023 by the Benjama Maharat Ponglang Band. The concept honors Ubon Ratchathani, a province with a long-standing history and the only province in Thailand whose name ends with "Ratchathani" (Royal City). The performance beautifully depicts the deep-rooted faith in Buddhism among the people of Ubon Ratchathani, passed down through generations, and their strict adherence to the Buddhist way of life up to the present day, expressed through spectacular choreography and powerful folk music.
