Core Information

Rom Phaka Kan

Creator:Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Khon Kaen University

"Rom Phaka Kan" is an exquisite performance inspired by the "Kalaphruek" tree. According to the ancient Traibhumikatha Buddhist cosmology, the Kalaphruek is a celestial wish-fulfilling tree located in the Tavatimsa Heaven. It is also the iconic symbol tree of Khon Kaen University, graciously bestowed and planted by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great (Rama IX) and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother during the university's inauguration. The performance beautifully depicts the celestial realm of angels and deities in Tavatimsa Heaven. It serves as a profound tribute to their royal grace, symbolizing heavenly blessings being showered upon the university.
