Creator:Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts and Cultural Science, Mahasarakham University

Fon Hang Nok Yung" is a performance that originated and evolved from the traditional warrior's sword dance and the boat-prow dance, historically performed to worship the city's guardian spirits prior to longboat races. The choreography was later meticulously refined and adapted as a royal welcome performance for His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great (Rama IX) and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother during their royal visit to Nakhon Phanom Province in 1955.
