Core Information

Phusa Anya Nang

Creator:Kalasin College of Dramatic Arts

"Phusa Anya Nang" is a creative dance performance inspired by the attire of the female ruling class, known as "Anya Nang," of Ubon Ratchathani in the past. It is modeled after a 1911 photograph of Mom Jiang Kham Chumphon Na Ayutthaya, the royal daughter-in-law of Major General Prince Sapphasitthiprasong. The performance beautifully portrays the historical blending of the Siamese royal court fashion—featuring Western-style lace blouses—with traditional Isan garments, specifically the silk tube skirt (Pha Sin) intricately woven with silver and gold threads and the distinct "Teen Sin" lower border unique to Ubon Ratchathani weavers. This is conveyed through elegant and noble choreography.
