Core Information
Mora Mayuramat
Creator:Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Khon Kaen University
Mora Mayuramat" is a creative dance performance that conveys the Buddhist essence of mindfulness and heedfulness (Appamada). The performance is inspired by the "Mora Paritta" (The Peacock's Spell), depicting the story of the Golden Peacock whose mind is originally pure, firmly grounded in Dhamma, and mindful of the Triple Gem. This inner strength is likened to the solid earth, keeping the mind unshaken by worldly dangers. However, when the peacock succumbs to worldly desires and the alluring illusions of a female peacock's song, its awakened mindfulness is extinguished, leading it into the hunter's snare. This stunning performance serves as a profound Buddhist teaching, reminding humanity to live mindfully and cautiously amidst life's uncertainties.
