Sern Yai Fai Fon

"Sern Yai Fai Fon" is a creative Isan folk dance performance inspired by the local Mekong River basin literature, "Sithon Manora" (Phra Suthon - Manora). The piece is based on a palm-leaf manuscript written in Tai Noi script, transliterated by Phra Ariyanuwat Khemachari Thera in 1971. The creators specifically focused on the lively scene where Princess Manora and her six Kinnari sisters adorn themselves with exquisite wings and tails before flying to the Anodard Pond. The choreography beautifully analyzes and interprets the elegance of Manora, embedding profound folklore symbolism and literary values into intricate dance movements.
