Core Information
Pa Re Re
Creator:Nakhon Ratchasima College of Dramatic Arts
"Pa Re Re" is a creative Isan folk dance that portrays the lifestyle and culture of the "Nyah Kur" (or "Chao Bon" / "Khon Dong"), an ancient Mon ethnic group residing in the mountainous borders of the Isan and Central regions (Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, and Phetchabun provinces). The performance showcases "Pa Re Re," a lively traditional game featuring improvised courtship singing and dancing. Characterized by its fun interactions and the rhythmic beats of Ton drums, it is typically performed during local festivals like the Hae Ho Dok Phueng tradition. The dance beautifully reflects the joyful spirit, aesthetics, and cultural heritage of the Nyah Kur people.
