Hun Chiang Yuen (The Giant Puppets of Chiang Yuen)

"Hun Chiang Yuen" is a performance by the On Son Isan Ponglang Band from Sri Kranuan Wittayakom School, created for the 2023 Isan Local Recreation Wisdom Festival's Ponglang competition (U-19 category) to compete for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother's Royal Trophy. The performance creatively portrays the cultural identity of the Ban Kho community in Khon Kaen Province. It highlights the "Hun Chiang Yuen," which are traditional giant human puppets conserved by the Ban Kho Municipality. These giant puppets are popularly paraded to bring joy and vibrant colors during the fourth lunar month's merit-making festival, known as "Boon Phawet"
