"Ruam Mongkol Jong Dai" is a traditional dance and folk music (Kantrum) performance of the Thai-Khmer ethnic group in Southern Isan (such as Surin province). In the local dialect, "Ruam" means dance, "Mongkol" means auspicious, and "Jong Dai" means tying the wrist. This performance is specially designed for auspicious occasions and "Basi Su Kwan" (wrist-tying ceremonies). It is used to warmly welcome guests, confer blessings, and boost morale through its unique and graceful choreography accompanied by beautiful folk singing.
