Jap Ho Pha Wao Jap Kao Pha Ja

"Jap Ho Pha Wao Jap Kao Pha Ja" is a creative performance inspired by the Phu Thai ethnic group's profound belief in spirits and the supernatural, a heritage dating back to their migration during the reign of King Rama III. The performance centers on the traditional "Yao" healing ritual practiced in Non Yang sub-district, Nong Sung district, Mukdahan province. This ritual involves four vital steps: inviting the spirit to determine the cause of illness, inquiring about the spirit's anger, asking for its demands, and offering sacrifices. The creators have conceptualized the spirit's role in a concrete form, beautifully integrating it with the unique Phu Thai Nong Sung folk dance to reflect the faith and spiritual sanctuary of the local people.
