Core Information

Fon Hod Song Phra Bang

Creator:Roi Et College of Dramatic Arts

"Fon Hod Song Phra Bang" is a creative thesis dance performance depicting the sacred Lao tradition of inviting "Phra Bang," the highly revered palladium of Laos, for the public to bathe (Hod Song) with scented water during the Lao New Year (Songkran) festival. The performance illustrates the profound belief that bathing the Phra Bang Buddha purifies the mind, wards off evil, and brings peace and prosperity to the people and the nation. This is beautifully conveyed through authentic Lao-style costumes, graceful choreography, and enchanting traditional Lao vocal melodies.
